Self-help Exercise
Regular exercise is important for your health. On the one hand, you will get fitter. On the other hand, exercise is good for your emotional well-being. Exercise helps to stop you thinking about unpleasant things by making you concentrate on your movements / sport. It isn’t important what type of physical exercise you do. The main thing is that you have regular physical activity. You should do something you enjoy. Possible ideas for physical activity:
- going for walks
- climbing stairs
- singing
- playing with children
- housework
- physical jobs
- jogging
- playing ball games
- dancing
- going cycling
- endurance training (e.g. press-ups, squats, stretching) and much more.
In the beginning, you might get exhausted very quickly. It will get better in time. It’s important not to set yourself too high standards. You should also be proud of small successes. Some people prefer to exercise as part of a group, others prefer to be on their own. Find out what is best for you.
